IMPACT AS AN ORGANIZATION
Alexander C. Borboran (National President)

IMPACT is a non-government organization whose primary objective is to help the government on its campaign for peace and development. Along with those directions,  related activities are being done such as crime prevention work, monitoring, environmental protection, emergency/disaster response operations, livelihood and welfare programs, moral and spiritual enhancement activities, youth development endeavors and many others. Terrorism, being a global crisis, was boldly and courageously integrated as one of its major concern. Our civilian members will deal with terrorism not just by monitoring and vigilance but also on attacking the root causes of why people resort to such condemnable and intolerable acts. We believe that some of our brethren resort to such inclination because of poverty, injustices, abuses of those that are in authority, lack of education and concern from the government who is supposed to give them support and attention.

The organization focuses strongly on individual faculties and his capability to provide help and extend his concern to the community where he lives. Regardless of status in life, each individual will be given the privilege of serving and sacrificing for others. He will not isolate himself doing nothing in face of crisis and adversity. The strong “BAYANIHAN” practice among the Filipinos will be deeply encouraged and revived. Thus, each member will make sure that his life creates a big IMPACT  for GOD, COUNTRY & HUMANITY.

Philippine history  reflects the indomitable spirit  of Filipinos in fighting foreign aggression and external threats to preserve their sovereignty and freedom. Starting from the Filipino Muslims, Lapu-lapu, Rizal, unknown heroes of World War II and Ninoy Aquino in our recent years, the fight of  the people projects the valor and immeasurable courage of fighting even until death just to preserve the freedom,  dignity and pride of every Filipino. They used all their faculties, might, mind and strength to face insurmountable foes.  However, Filipinos has modern day battle, inwardly. The colonialism that had crept into our cultures, the language barriers, topographical  boundaries, dirty political system, religious differences, corruption, downtrodden economy and many others resulted on social instability which brought up other problems such as  arms struggle, disunity, loss of moral values, crimes and worst, even  terrorism.

This is why IMPACT was conceived and created. Nobody, except Filipinos themselves can aptly manage and solve their own affairs. It is through our faith, submission to God, our willingness to serve,  and sacrifice that these predicaments can be overcome.

We challenge every Filipino to look into the mirror and ask himself, What am I doing here? How can I influence the lives of others and make my existence meaningful? What should I do to change the bad things around me? Join IMPACT and you will discover the answers.
